Agoraphobia is a condition wherein anxiety attacks are triggered when sufferers find themselves in big crowds or wide-open spaces or are traveling. The condition is often compounded with fear of social embarrassment as well as the fear of the onset of a panic attack, which causes the individual to appear distraught. Sufferers can experience attacks at the most inconvenient of times, which is why severe cases of agoraphobia may confine the sufferer to his or her home, thus making it hard for them to accomplish daily tasks.
There is no one particular cause for agoraphobia. Sometimes, it can be a result of frightening or traumatic experiences. It may also be genetic, as some studies claim to trace this disorder from other family members. It may also be caused by certain social factors. Whatever the cause, agoraphobia brings distress to sufferers, as well as their families.

I am suffering from a panic disorder.I went for counseling for psychotherapy for about a month. I felt like it was helping me for a about 2 weeks only. After, I stopped the psychotherapy, and went to an acupuncturist who was saying that he can treat panic disorder by acupuncture and by taking herbal medicine. But, after getting another panic attack inside a train, I felt like, maybe I need to go see a psychiatrist. I went to see the psychiatrist and he told me that the best way to cure panic disorder is by taking medication he prescribes. He told me to take PAROXETINE once a day everyday and ALPRAZOLAM as needed depending on my symptoms. The problem is I feel like my syptoms are getting worse as I take these medications.I never felt depressed before taking this medication, but now I feel very depressed for no reason. My doctor is telling me that I was depressed before too, but its just that I never realized it before. But i know myself and I know for sure that I was not depressed befor

Because a lot of people today do not like taking medications for their disorders, they often opt for alternate medication for their anxiety. This includes aromatherapy, acupuncture, herbal supplements and meditation. These will work well if the anxiety is not severe and there is no severe underlying depression that is causing the anxiety or panic disorder.

About 4 months ago out of the blue I started having panic attacks. I don’t know how to stop them. I tried acupuncture and chiropractor. They both seemed to make them not so severe and not as often but I can’t seem to shake them. Ok I know im not dying, I know it’s just in my head, I know that there is no reason for them. I know it’s not a big deal. But I still have them, I try to talk myself out of it and it usually works but they just scare the crap out of me. I get these really bad headaches daily. I been trying not to go on antidepressants but its starting to look like an only option. I been taking magnesium and a multivitamin for about a week, so far no relief. Any suggestions?

i have vry bad gerd/acid reflux.. or whatever the hell. i’m very irritated and upset that my health had to turn out this way. since very young, ive had the gag reflex during stress, social outings, pressure, and foods. ive been on many medications. prevacid, zantac, peptid ac, and currently on cvs brand med… all of which do not work for me anymore.
i am very … i dont know. ive been researching online for anxiety/panic attack reducers, acupunctures and such. i go to the doctor with this buthe prescribes the same thing..says its just all in the mind and psychological.. things i am tired of hearing becuse he and my family tells me to think lightly and all that. but let me tell you, actions speak louder than words. its not easy to control anxiety.
the doctor said i m too young to be on certain anxiety medications.. im 19 btw, & that i should just keep calm.
i dont know what to do anymore. my last resources are.. prilosec and nexium. i guess..but how much is nexium? neone w/ sim. prob?

A procedure of inserting and manipulating fine filiform needles into specific points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purpose is known as acupuncture. Acupuncture is also known as an alternative treatment available to treat panic attack. Although acupuncture is only made known to US in 1970s, it has been used to treat various ailments since 5,200 years ago in China. For panic attacks sufferers, it helps to change the way their body react to fear and lessen the pains caused by the physical symptoms.
