Infertility and Acupuncture doesn’t seem to jive when you first hear about it due to the fact that Infertility treatments are usually products of modern medicine, while acupuncture traces its roots way back to ancient china. Infertility is a serious issue for most couples who have tried and tried yet failed to no avail. This is where the unconventional methods of acupuncture enter the picture. It has proven itself worthy of being an efficient partner in infertility treatments with a very high success rate. Acupuncture is defined as the method of controlling very fine needles and inserting them in different points on the body. These points, when inserted with needles, are believed to reduce pain and also provide the body with a soothing, therapeutic effect. This is because acupuncture is a form of physical therapy. It regulates the body by regulating the body’s blood flow and the body’s hormone levels. Hormonal imbalance, one of the reasons for a person’s infertility, is avoided. There are times when acupuncture is actually required before a patient is allowed to enter the next phase of the treatment. It is because of the healing process acupuncture gives the patient, making it even easier for the other procedures to take full effect. Such as in the case of a patient about to undergo IVF, acupuncture is a prerequisite to the process. Acupuncture gives the treatment a higher success rate of ending up in pregnancy. Other infertility complications which could be cured by the help of acupuncture are spasmed tubes, elevated follicle stimulating hormone or FSH, miscarriage, unexplained infertility, luteal phase defect, hyperprolactinemia, and polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. These are all conditions concerning women. Acupuncture helps in the treatment of sperm-DNA-fragmentation; one of the few infertility conditions concerning men. Acupuncture does not work overnight. It requires a certain amount of time for the body to adjust and undergo the process of healing. This is why a doctor prescribes acupuncture months before a procedure is about to be done to a patient. This will make the patient ready for the procedure and acupuncture will also help in the efficiency of the treatment. In in vitro fertilization, three to four months of acupuncture is necessary before entering the procedure. Other treatments require the acupuncture after the procedure to make the healing process faster.Acupuncture is really safe and budget-friendly. To avoid complications, it is suggested that the acupuncturist you’re getting is familiar with different kinds of infertility treatments or is aware of the relation between infertility treatments and acupuncture. A kind of acupuncture also works as a painkiller for pregnancy labor. This is called electro-acupuncture. It also helps in speeding up the healing process, shortening the stay in the hospital. Thus, saving a lot of money. The most important effect of acupuncture for the infertility issue is the way it relieves a person of stress, anxiety and depression. All these are experienced by couples with infertility problems. Acupuncture helps them relax because sometimes, stress is the reason why conceiving is not possible.

If you are having difficulty getting pregnant, and are interested in using natural fertility treatment methods, then you should seriously consider undergoing acupuncture treatment. In the past decade there have been numerous scientific studies that have proven that acupuncture significantly improves a woman’s chances of conceiving and carrying a baby to term.
A German study in 2002 of 80 women receiving either IVF treatment alone or IVF treatment combined with acupuncture, showed that the women receiving acupuncture had nearly double the rate of pregnancy than those only receiving IVF treatment. These results have been duplicated in numerous additional studies, including one in 2008 that involved over 1000 women and whose results were recently published in the British Medical Journal. The former concept of health was simply just the absence of disease. In the current time, this isn’t the definition of health anymore as the body is now more understood as a complicated specimen more than just the physiologic aspect of things. This is also the case in terms of medicine and nursing concepts. Most of the things that people do nowadays are focused not just in the aspect of the body’s needs and requirements but also in the mental and spiritual sense.
In these instances, it should be understood that the misbalance is coming from different axis according to one theory of health. For this theory, not only are people prone to mental and physiologic illnesses but there are also instances when the body will be affected because of spiritual reasons, meaning the environment and the different factors are the causes of health affectations.

Infertility is a disability. It is the inability to have an offspring despite a long time of trying, possibly a year or even more. Most couples really want to increase the chances of conceiving a child. But these people who deal with infertility feel stressed because it puts pressure on them emotionally. It can also cost them a lot, in terms of money and in terms of indirect costs. As a result, many couples try to engage in natural fertility options, especially if other methods are too costly and they do not need a drastic procedure or process. One such fertility treatment that is recommended by those who have tried is acupuncture.
Acupuncture is a procedure that originated from China and is popular in the Eastern culture. It uses thin needles to put pressure on specific points in the body. It aims to realign the body’s natural chi or balance. In the process of placing the acupuncture needles, stress and other negative feelings and energy are said to be released out of the body. It is said to free up the blockages in the body flow. Despite some people considering acupuncture as a non-conventional treatment, studies have shown that acupuncture has a lot of positive results such as release of hormones like endorphins. This allows more relaxation and decrease of blood pressure in the body. Acupuncture also helps in increasing blood flow and decreasing infections in the body by stimulating the immune system.

Acupuncture has been around for a long time and was initiated in the East. It is a process in which thin needles are inserted into the skin and moved into certain points in the body, helping to alleviate pain and other medical conditions. Acupuncture is generally used to control blood pressure, because it stimulates the central nervous system. Endorphins are released into the body which relieve pain, which in returns gives your body a renewed feeling. Neurotransmitters and neurohormones are also released into your body; this process will help your body to heal on its own.
This is the main reason acupuncture and infertility treatments were studied as a perfect corollary treatment pair. The body needs to be relaxed and the uterus has to be in a healthy state to accept and nourish the transplanted egg.
