L-Theanine is an unique free form amino acid found only in the tea plant and in the mushrooms Xerocomus badius in addition to certain species connected with genus Camellia, G. japonica and Chemical. sasanqua. Often drinkers of green tea herb report an experiencing of calmness people feel after ingesting a cup or two even though green tea includes roughly half the particular caffeine of gourmet coffee. This is due to high L-Theanine content material.

In addition so that you can reducing anxiety indications, studies have shown L-Theanine might be effective in offering concentration, supporting the body’s defense mechanisms, improving learning overall performance, lowering blood strain, increasing formation of your inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, and increasing brain dopamine levels concerning other positive benefits without having known downside.

Studies in cooperation using Taiyo Kagaku Company., The University of Shizuoka, and The family unit Planning Institute of Japan have shown that women acquiring 200 mg L-Theanine each day have lower likelihood of PMS indications. These symptoms include physical, mental, plus social symptoms. General, a significant reduction of PMS indicators by L-Theanine was observed.

While even now under investigation, L-Theanine appears undertake a role in the formation with the inhibitory neurotransmitter Gamma Amino Butyric Acid solution (GABA). GABA blocks release of your neurotransmitters dopamine as well as serotonin, playing an important role in the particular relaxation effect.

Everyone knows the effects panic and anxiety can have upon an individual’s physical think of well-being. Fascinating neurochemistry study has revealed that given an attempt of GABA essentially turned back the clocks inside brains of elderly monkeys, whose brain functionality briefly operated in levels normally observed in monkeys fewer than half their age.

GABA, or perhaps gamma-amino butyric acidity, is a neurotransmitter chemical which is essential for optimizing the best way brain cells transmit messages together and acts to put a damper with unwanted brain signaling hobby. Although GABA’s age-related decline isn’t documented in people, a host regarding studies in mammals, which includes other primates, suggests that a similar process is in work in people.

Monkeys ages twenty six and 32 — considered final years for monkeys — which got GABA directly sent to their neurons taken care of immediately visual patterns, for example flashing vertical as well as horizontal lines, in a very similar way as monkeys outdated 7 to 9 years old did.

Without GABA shipping and delivery, the monkeys’ good old brains had extra difficulty firing neurons in which specifically gauge various issues with depth perception, motions and color. As an alternative, older monkeys have an overabundance of random firings making it difficult to monitor visual nuances. In younger monkeys, GABA got no effect since their brains previously had optimal GABA working.

L-Theanine is thought to be safe based upon its historical use to be a component of green tea and on beneficial toxicology studies. Tea would be the most consumed cocktail worldwide after waters, and has already been consumed for 1000s of years by immeasureable people. It is estimated that your heavy tea wine-drinker (6-8 mugs daily) may consume between 250 to 400 mg connected with L-Theanine daily.

While dosage regarding depression and panic remain individual, it’s commended to take 100 to 200 mg 1 to thrice daily for nervousness relief. Based around the results of scientific studies, it continues to be established that L-Theanine is beneficial in single dosages within the range of 50-200 mg. It is strongly recommended that subjects with higher amounts of anxiety take a dose for the higher end from the effective range (100 – 200 mg) pertaining to overcoming anxiety.

Question by Jamal: Does anyone know of a way to cure chronic headaches and neck pain?
About five years ago, I developed severe neck pain and headaches that has been with me 24/7 since that time. This occurred around the same time my anxiety disorder and depression worsened. What originally began as severe neck pain spread all across my head. For awhile, it was extremely painful to make any kind of facial expression, but wearing a dental mouthguard while asleep in addition to some types of physical therapy helped. However, my neck pain and headaches are still there. No type of medication I’ve tried from stuff specifically meant for headaches to muscle relaxers and anti-anxiety medications have helped. I’ve also tried massage therapy, chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncture, rolfing, psychotherapy, and hypnosis, but none of those helped.

I no I probably can’t get rid of my depression, anxiety disorder, insomnia, and neck pain/headaches all at once, but I’d at least like to tackle one of them. My neck pain and headache makes it very difficult to think, do any type of physical activity, and causes extreme discomfort when sitting or standing. It’s also affected my memory and ability to learn. I used to have a great memory, which was very important since I previously did a lot of reading, but now I forget what I read almost immediately. Not only that, but my brain can’t seem to grasp metaphors, analogies, and definitions very well. Whenever I try learning new vocabulary, it never sticks. It’s infuriating, because now my mind is so muddled and I’m worried that it’ll keep me from eventually going to grad school and pursuing the type of career I want.

I’m not sure what to do, so I’d greatly appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Kathy Miller
You can get the CD’s of the book A New Earth, by Edkhart Tolle, what he says to do has helped me get rid of pain in an instant. Also, Jonathan Parker has excellent meditation tapes at Quantum Quests for all kinds of problems, they are not cheap, but are well worth every penny you pay for them. Eat good healthy foods and get yourself a juicer, and juice carrot, with some celery and a beet, and drink it often, you can put apples with it also. Cut out all junk food, eat only natural healthy food, and eat a high protein breakfast. Unity church has a prayer line, you can call and ask them to pray for you, they are great, and many will pray for your healing.

Panic attacks are an overwhelming fear and anxiety. Panic attacks can occur anywhere and at anytime. They are also called anxiety attacks and panic disorders. Women have panic attacks more than men, but both can have panic attacks anytime. How to cure panic attacks are treatable through your doctor or therapist.

Your heart beats faster, palms get all sweaty and your mind races but mild anxiety can get out of hand for no apparent reason. These kinds of panic attacks are frightening especially if you don’t know what is happening to you. You feel like you are having a heart attack as panic attack symptoms can mimic one.

If you have panic attacks often, you might have what is called a panic disorder. It is a medical condition that requires attention from a doctor. It is treatable and should not go unnoticed.

Many times a person might feel stressed emotionally and physically, but that does not mean you are having a panic attack. Panic attack symptoms are numerous and you sweat a lot, trouble breathing, choking sensation, hot or cold flashes, feeling unattached from your surroundings, rapid heartbeats, chest pain, hyperventilation, trembling, feeling of you might die and more characterize symptoms.

The worst fear is that you may have another attack and you would not want to leave your house. You have frequent attacks and you want to avoid whatever triggers the attack so you don’t leave your house. This is called agoraphobia because this is where you feel the safest place to be is home. If these attacks are left untreated it could become so severe that it could result into panic disorder and complications may occur.

If you think you are having an attack talk to your doctor and suggestions will be recommended. You can cure panic attacks by learning to cope with your anxiety triggers. Medication such as Paxil or Prozac might be offered for your anxiety. Counseling might be offered to talk about what might trigger your attacks.

Panic attacks are treatable and your doctor will be able to make suggestions on how to cure them. Figuring out what triggers your panic attacks will help lower your stress and your panic attacks. Treatment will also focus on reducing your stress, cope with your anxiety, and treat your symptoms of anxiety attacks.

These ideas to cure panic attacks might include finding out what triggers your attacks, talk therapy will help you to understand your panic attacks and how to cope with your attacks, face what might trigger your attacks, join a support group, practice stress management and relaxation procedures, yoga, aerobic exercises, or acupuncture might help your panic attacks.

Even though there are several websites that promote a method for the natural cure of depression and anxiety, not many authenticate their solutions. So what is the best method for you to tell if these offers are genuine? You must check out the website to see if there are valid testimonials and supporting information. In the course of my research I came across an excellent site, which offers verifiable photo and audio testimonials. Just think how often do you actually come across such openness and honesty?

Are you plagued with anxiety attacks? Are you being confused and delaying making a decision on a natural cure for depression and anxiety due to the many offers available? Are anxiety attacks causing you to lose control of your life and your sanity? If any or all of these questions are plaguing your life, you should read this article. You will discover a proven method to rid yourself of depression and anxiety.

The use of drugs prescribed by a doctor is one of the common treatments people turn to. Contrary to that, this research has been directed toward non-medical treatments for anxiety. Treatment that includes lifestyle changes and pure therapy are two of the non-medicine treatments that have proven to be quite effective in treating anxiety disorders.

Non-natural treatments for the treatment of anxiety have serious side effects which cause other health issues. This problem can be avoided when you choose non-medicine related anxiety therapy. Using lifestyle changes and therapy sessions that make permanent cure of the anxiety issue will require more effort than taking medication. The extra effort may seem tedious, but it is the final rewards that you should focus on. Going the natural way will reward you with a more emotionally and physically healthier you.

Acupuncture: Europe and China have scientific studies that show acupuncture of the body or ears can be effective to diminish or even cure anxiety disorders. Several books have been published that promote the stimulation of acu-pressure points in the ear that help patients to relax. Auricular acupuncture is becoming increasingly popular as an anxiety therapy tool. . This method is used to ease anxiety, reduce stress and maintain good mental wellbeing.

Lifestyle changes: not referring to drastic changes. Instead lifestyle changes as anxiety therapy requires simple, easy to follow modifications to existing behavior patterns. The reduction of caffeine and tobacco from your diet is recommended. These substances though initially producing a calming effect actually increase anxiety levels in the long run.

You can choose to think positively and shun negative thoughts, books and television programs. Avoid anything that is negative and can depress you; steel yourself and walk away. Use the Internet to find a natural cure for depression and anxiety that has excellent reviews by satisfied users. Identify the best method for you and follow the program instructions as presented.

For the program I found most authentic with verified results, visit http://www.signsandcuresforanxiety.com/panicaway.html

People who are chronic sufferers of anxiety and depression often seek radical ways of permanently addressing their problems whenever everything else fails. Prescription drugs such as anti-anxiety drugs and antidepressants fall short in the long term cure for chronic anxiety problems. They are there only for immediate and short-term relief of anxiety symptoms and nothing more. For many sufferers, chronic symptoms should not be addressed by chronic medications that would render them dependent on prescription drugs all their life. They do not want to contend with managing anxiety problems anymore; they want a total and permanent cure once and for all for their chronic anxiety problems. A lot of them now are looking into alternative ways for anxiety cure and one of these methods is acupuncture.

Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese art of inserting needles to various acupuncture points in the body to facilitate a continuous and natural energy flow that was otherwise blocked in cases of both neurological and physiological disorders. Modern uses of acupuncture include a holistic recuperating therapy to treat certain discomforts, pain management and anxiety and depression treatment.

Acupuncture provides certain effects on the body which are observed to be consistent for all treatments and applications. These are the following:

• The patient receives strength, energy and vitality, upon recovery.

• It is an immune system booster.

• It relieves or eliminates pain, and greatly reduces the need for pain killers.

• The recovery periods for patients is significantly shortened with continuous acupuncture therapy sessions.

• Symptoms of stress are found to be greatly reduced as well as marked improvement in blood circulation as a result of acupuncture therapy sessions.

• It is proven to have no side effects whatsoever, so it can be administered in parallel with medical treatments.

• Anybody can undergo acupuncture therapy sessions even without any specific disease or ailment and still gain benefits of energy and strength renewal.

Treatment for depression and anxiety
Neurological and psychological ailments are found to be properly addressed when the patient undergoes acupuncture treatment. This may include depression and anxiety disorders. Patients attest to having a more positive disposition and are generally light and happy after their acupuncture therapy sessions. Insomnia, which is a major cause of anxiety and depression, is also relieved through acupuncture. This technique could be a very promising anxiety cure as well as relieving symptoms of depression.

There are still debates an doubts regarding the effectiveness and the seemingly radical and unorthodox methods used by acupuncture practitioners in the medical and scientific field. But slowly, many medical practitioners are adopting this technique for a variety of medical purposes, especially in the field of pain management and psychological disorders which include anxiety. Still, many are dismissing the acupuncture treatment method as only having a placebo effect on patients. Whether this assumption has merit or not, it is up to the scientific community to refute or accept it once and for all. As for now, it is a fact that acupuncture is gaining popularity in the medical profession and chronic anxiety sufferers can still resort to this treatment method in their quest for a permanent anxiety cure.

Come winter, and people with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) want to go into hibernation and bury themselves in some deep dark tunnel. Their anxiety increases as soon as they see summer’s coming to an end. Sadly, SAD returns every winter, and there is no way to cure it for good. However, there are many ways in which its symptoms can be alleviated and controlled.

The most commonly used therapy for SAD patients is the light therapy. There are two types of light therapies:

1) Bright light treatment; and

2) Dawn simulation.

In Bright Light Treatment, the patient is required to sit in front of a source of a bright light (usually using a ‘light box’) for a certain amount of time every day. Dawn simulation is a technique in which the brightness of light gradually builds up in the morning while a person sleeps. These are effective in reducing depression from SAD, but depression returns as soon as these are discontinued. So, the use of light therapy should be continued for the whole winter, or until seasonal depression subsides.

Along with light therapy, some physicians may prescribe antidepressant medication to a patient. Most commonly used antidepressants for this purpose are: flouxitine, paroxetine, citalopram, bupropion and desipramine. Caution should be taken while using antidepressants as they may cause dependence which may lead to their abuse by the patient throughout the year. Also, the amounts given should be gradually built up and should not be abruptly stopped, but rather reduced over some time to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Patients with SAD should also consider joining support groups and counselling. These would help them cope better with their situation and is of two types: cognitive therapy and behavioral therapy. It is also beneficial to involve the patient’s family in counseling, so that they know how to deal with the patient and are more understanding and compassionate towards their problem.

Acupuncture is also emerging as a way of treating SAD. Lifestyle changes may also help in alleviating SAD symptoms. For instance, incorporating a physical exercise routine into your daily life, watching what you eat and adjusting your sleeping pattern can help. Obesity and overconsumption of carbohydrate-rich foods may enhance the symptoms of SAD, so a patient should watch their weight and also what passes their palate. Patients should make the most of daylight hours by getting up earlier in the morning and going to bed earlier.

Patients diagnosed with SAD should also be kept happy. Avoid confronting them with unhappy thoughts or experiences. The patients should also try to organise a busy routine for their winters, so that they have less time for obsessing over their blues. Such people should also try to do most of their work near windows that let in plenty of sunlight. Exercise also releases ‘feel-good’ hormones in the body that help to reduce the depression to a certain extent. It has also been shown that SAD sufferers are less prone to depression if their surroundings are painted in light colours.

Rosana Horowitz is an expert in SAD and is familiar with its effects. She has tested many products that lay claim to being the market leader but she has found the Sunrise systems srs 250 clock to be highly effective in the treatment of SAD.

Researchers from Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester have found that hypnotherapy can be used to effectively treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in 70 per cent of cases.

Irritable bowel syndrome is a functional bowel disorder, which causes abdominal pain, and in some cases, fever, diarrhoea, bloating, constipation and nausea. It is a common ailment, which is thought to affect one in three people at some point in their lives.

The causes of irritable bowel syndrome are unknown, particularly as IBS sufferers show no physical abnormalities in the bowel. Because of this, many specialists believe that stress is a major factor in causing this painful bowel disorder.

Currently, a hypnotherapist at the Manchester hospital is treating more than 60 irritable bowel syndrome sufferers every week. Patients are coming from locations throughout the country to experience this cutting-edge course of 12 hypnotherapy treatments, which means the hospital now has an 18-month waiting list.

Pamela Cruickshanks, who is one of Wythenshawe Hospital’s three clinical hypnotherapists, explains how the treatment works. She said: “We provide patients with 12 sessions of ‘gut-directed hypnotherapy’, which teach patients to take control over their bowel. Due to the success of this treatment, patients are coming from all over the country to access our services, and hypnosis is now considered to be the treatment of choice for moderate to severe IBS.”

One irritable bowel syndrome sufferer from Manchester, Claire Brunton, suffered from painful cramps and other symptoms of the bowel disorder so badly that she stopped wanting to eat, which left her on the verge of anorexia. She also started to suffer from terrifying panic attacks because she was worrying so much about getting ill.

However, as a result of Wythenshawe hospital’s revolutionary hypnotherapy programme, she has learnt some great techniques to stop her panic attacks, control her symptoms and help to cope with the pain. While her illness had once held her back in life, the hypnotherapy treatments have helped her to cope with the stress of her final university exams, as well as giving her enough confidence to enter the world of work and begin a new job as a recruitment consultant.

Claire was quick to praise Wythenshawe Hospital’s hypnotherapy treatment for IBS, she said: “Hypnotherapy is a very strange thing to try to describe, your therapist helps you to relax slowly but you are awake and conscious throughout – it feels like the last few moments before you go to sleep when you still know what is happening around you.”

Before embarking on this treatment, Claire had tried a number of other IBS therapies to no avail. She explained: “IBS was taking over my life. I had started to worry I would not be able to hold down a job and I didn’t want to eat because I felt like everything I ate made me sick, so I’d tried all kinds of herbal remedies and acupuncture before the hypnotherapy.”

As well as having hypnotherapy, Claire was also given a number of blood tests at the hospital that showed she was allergic to dairy and wheat products. She now avoids these foods and finds that her symptoms have eased a great deal.

In today’s world, the People’s Republic of China is dominating the world trade with its vigorous strategy of marketing. But ages ago, Chinese herbs gained the faith for its remarkable curative power. These Chinese herbs did also have cures for tinnitus pulsatile, tuberculosis, trauma and severe renal failure. Two main points divides the topic: Acquaintance with age old Chinese Medicine and another is the Chinese herbal medicine with its medications. The herbal cures are very popular for their effectiveness, whereas the traditional treatment method failed to prove effective in some instances.

YANG is considered to be masculine and positive, where as YIN is with woman’s nature and negative. This is the belief as per the age old Chinese Medicine. Perfect balance of YIN-YANG will always represent healthiness. YIN, which is subdued, can lead to tinnitus, mild fever, dizziness, lower back pain and other problems. TCM’s logic is that, non sufficient YIN may cause damage to the kidney and other organs. Probability on increase in other diseases is very high if kidney is affected, since the kidney is the foundation of all functioning organs in the human body. This situation will hamper the proper functioning of other organs of the body as well.

Factors, which may give birth to tinnitus, are being looked at by Traditional Chinese Medicine. They also try to cure tinnitus by following acupuncture or with some other procedures.

•Emotional exertion, feeling frustrated, short temperedness results in LV fire or LV Yang to rise. It gives birth to sudden tinnitus, for which a loud sound starts ringing in the ear as a symptom.

•Grief, misery, depression, no movement of blood in the upper part of the body and not being able rise to the head and nurture is the reason of tinnitus starting gradually.

•Tinnitus starts with a low pitch when there is overwork or performing too much sexual exercise. This happens due to weakness of KD.

•Starting of tinnitus on slow pace is a result of gradual hearing loss, which is in turn caused by senility or old that weakens the KD Jing.

•Phlegm generation which restricts the rise of clear QI to the head, is the result of not following proper and healthy food habit. Having damp and greasy food is the prime reason.

•Trauma and sudden hearing of loud noise leads to sudden start to tinnitus which makes the patient seem as if a loud noise is always ringing in the ears.

To get a clear understanding, acquaintance with terminology of Chinese treatment is necessary. But acupuncture can cure these conditions.

•Initially the general symptoms are like very bad sleeping habit, problem of constipation, not having taste in the mouth, reddish eyes, ruddy face, uncontrollable anger continuous irritation and dizziness.

•Reddish color of the tongue with a coating of dry yellow especially on the surface of LV/GB.

•Full, rapidity in pulse rate with wiry pulse is the pulse indications.

Acupuncture Treatment and some of its points to cure Tinnitus

•Maciocia treatment points with Valaskatagis commentary, additions and commentaries.

•LV 2 to clear LV fire

•LV 3 to resolve LV QI stagnation, especially f it happens at the origin of the fire.

•GB 20 to lower the YANG and clear the head.

•GB 13 to treat the psycho-emotional aspect of LV fire.

•LI 14 when head symptoms are prevalent.

Some acupuncture protocols for treatment are…

•Differentiation include excess patterns like the rising of the LV/GB fire and/or Phlegm fire moving up, while deficiency patterns like KD Jing deficiency, upper burner deficiency and heart blood deficiency.

•Symptoms for LV/GB fire rising include abrupt onset of tinnitus that can be loud and often related to emotional stress. It can be accompanied by headache, dizziness and frequent feelings of thirst.

•Treatment Protocol includes (1) Draining the LV fire, (2) Easing the ears, (3) Consoling the mental tension and (4) Settling the tormenting soul.

•Treatment points include the following

1.LV 2 to drain the LV fire

2.GB 20 – LV YANG for easing the ear and calming the mind

3.GB 8 – LV YANG for consoling the mind.

From about 5000 years ago, Chinese herbal medicine provided a potent relief to ill people. This stream of medicine was carried forward by the priests who played the dual role of a physician. These men identified and nourished rare herbs with medicinal properties. Various illnesses were cured by them. Even tinnitus is well treated by Chinese herbal medicine.

Chinese medication works well in treating tinnitus. But why go for it when there are better options available? Better and far more potent ammunition to counter tinnitus exists. It is termed holistic remedies. Holistic remedy is a combination of various methods of medication. Its elementary approach is to identify the root cause of an illness and then tries to cure it. Once the root cause is isolated, the ailment is as good as gone. A combination of various methods of medication is used to curing the root cause. The various methods include diet and lifestyle changes, Chinese medications, exercise, herbal medication, even acupuncture, among others. Holistic remedies treat the body not as separate sections, but as a whole. Whereas conventional medication treats the symptoms of a disease, holistic remedy treats the cause of the disease. Thus using holistic remedies cures the symptoms of a disease permanently. But in conventional medicine, the symptoms reappear once the effect of the drug weakens. With conventional medication, the side effects can be damaging. In holistic remedies, there are no damaging side effects.

Tinnitus Disease

Many folks are survivors of buzzing, hissing and crackling in the ears. These continuous noises are called tinnitus by scientists. These sounds are especially disabling because properties are persistent. Tinnitus Disease

What is worse and a good amount of annoying as opposed to hearing the noise all day long and continuing to at nights within the duration of the sleep hours. These invaders leave no breathing space, which instigates inexorably to insomnia, fatigue and nonetheless depression. Tinnitus is very diverse in its manifestations.

It may cover in one ear or both the ears and you get the impression that they are invading your cranium. Tinnituses are of various origins. They can be caused by diseases or other external circumstances which are hard to identify. The medical causes are infections, tumors, ear infections, circulatory disorders, deafness and many more. The outside causes are age, wax formation in ears, dental problems, trauma, stress, prolonged or repeated exposure to high decibels, and so on.

This last question in particular is that why are more and more young people suffering from tinnitus. The music systems, discos, mp3 players, stereos in cars are threats for your ears. The State seems to have some concern and is asking manufacturers to rein in their machines. But there is still some way to go before everything is perfect. The education to young people should be the priority, as too few are aware of the risks involved in the same. Tinnitus Disease

This diversity of possible causes means that it is not always easy to diagnose and find the appropriate remedy. Many ways have been tried and are being used for some years. Traditional medicine can provide solutions in specific cases, when there are some medical causes.

They may disappear if the disease is treated at the origin of tinnitus. Sometimes a simple hearing aid can also be mitigated significantly. When the causes are not precisely defined, natural medicine can sometimes be used successfully. The most difficult part is to find the cure for everyone. There are so many different types of tinnituses that one may work for one person but may not work for another.

Homeopathy, sophrology, aromatherapy, relaxation, acupuncture, hypnosis, massage, yoga, mesotherapy, osteopathy etc. have been used and have produced some good results. Finally, a healthy and balanced diet can help reduce the problems caused by tinnitus. If you are in good health than your body will be able to combat the disease better. Avoid caffeine, tobacco, decrease your intake of salt, sugar and saturated fat. It is preferable to take certain vitamins such as vitamin A, B3, D, E, trace elements like magnesium, manganese and iodine. Tinnitus Disease

Of course, it is important that you consult a specialist before choosing a particular treatment. You must not despair and be disheartened. There is certainly a therapy present that matches your type of tinnitus. It’s up to you to find it by exploiting all avenues and to try to free yourself of this haunting noise, which spoils every aspect of your life. Suffering from Tinnitus and Ringing in Ear?

Acupressure is acupuncture without the use of needles. By applying pressure to the acupoints prescribed by ancient Chinese medicine, specific organs and areas of the body may be successfully treated. With this science, the energy of the meridian system called Yin, Yang and Qi is brought into alignment, allowing the body to heal itself.

Traditional Chinese acupuncture has been used to treat digestive disorders for over two thousand years. Recent studies suggest that acupuncture, acupressure and electrical acupoint stimulation applied to Pericardium 6 (P6) reduce relaxations of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). Relaxation of the LES is the major cause of acid reflux. One study with electrical acupoint stimulation showed a 40% reduction of these LES relaxations in most of the cases studied. This is an astounding claim and could be the beginning of one of the most important discoveries ever made for the treatment of acid reflux.

What is P6? P6, also called Neiguan, is an acupoint located on the underside of the wrist between 2 tendons. If you hold out your hand and bend it toward you, P6 is located in the middle of the wrist approximately two finger-widths from the crease where the hand and arm meet.

What is the LES? The lower esophageal sphincter is a muscular valve located between the esophagus and the stomach, which opens to allow food and liquids into the stomach. It is supposed to close tight to prevent gastric fluids from coming back up into the esophagus. When it becomes relaxed, you have acid reflux. Many things can cause the LES to relax; acidic foods, carbonated beverages, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate and stress, to name a few.

Acupressure to the P6 has been employed for years to relieve nausea and vomiting. Recently it has been used to treat traveler’s motion and sea sickness, morning sickness in pregnant women and post operative nausea. Acupressure wrist bands, also called “sea bands”, are now being used for this purpose. The wrist band fits snugly on the wrist and has a small plastic button which applies pressure to the P6. It is now believed that these same wrist bands may reduce acid reflux.

You can also treat yourself without the use of wrist bands by using the fingers. Keep in mind that when applying pressure to the P6, the feeling should be a slight numbness, never a sharp pain. All acupoints are normally beside and in between bones, ligaments and tendons. They are never found on bones, blood vessels or arteries, but in depressions between or beside them.

Interestingly, the P6 is also used to treat insomnia, chest pain, epilepsy, fever and migraines as well as nausea, vomiting and acid reflux. Stimulating this acupoint may be beneficial to the entire body.

Ancient Chinese medicine supports the theory that acupoints connect the internal pathways of energy conduction and that stimulating these points accelerates the flow of this energy. On the other hand, allopathic medicine is just beginning to understand these principals. They attribute the success of acupuncture to nerve signals and chemicals released by the central nervous system, but have no idea how it works. Given enough time, hopefully modern medical science will catch up with these ancient healing methods.

Whatever you believe, acupuncture really does work. It is relaxing and absolutely pain free. The needles used are so thin that you don’t even feel them. Acupressure is a simple variation of this theme by which we can treat ourselves without the use of needles or expensive acupuncture sessions. Just find an acupressure chart and start working on yourself. It’s also fun to treat others. Even pets benefit from this science. I work on my thirteen year old Jack Russell Terrier, Jack Pot, every morning to relieve him of his allergy symptoms. He is very appreciative, indeed.

I encouraged a friend who recently developed acute gerd to try a pair of the P6 wrist bands, which I bought on line. We found that they actually do work in reducing acid reflux, but only if you have them placed on the wrist so that pressure from the wrist band button is precisely on P6. It took a bit of experimentation, but we were successful after an hour or so. One company on the internet claims that you only need to wear one wrist band. Others suggest that it only works with two. Maybe they are both right – who knows. I do know that this is worth trying if you suffer from acid reflux even if you only have a 40% chance of success. What have you got to loose?

If you want to try the wrist bands, they are available on line and at many health food stores at reasonable prices. You might also consider a massage from someone who specializes in acupressure and have them work on the P6. I find that a visit to my reflexologist is always beneficial. But whatever you do, it is always good to keep an open mind about healing in general and to exercise your right to treat yourself. We all have the ability to heal ourselves. As far as acid reflux is concerned, there are many natural ways to at least keep it under control, if not actually cure it.

A critical first step in how to cure anxiety is to understand just how the fear of having another anxiety attack perpetuates a ‘vicious cycle of anxiety’, making it much more difficult to cure it. Very often, people are identified as having general anxiety only after they have suffered an attack. And then the experience of that attack has a profound effect on how the victim views things from then on. This can turn into a vicious cycle of anxiety which can be difficult to break free from. But to cure anxiety you need to remove that fear and break the cycle.

The Fear of Another Anxiety Attack Can Trigger One

Unfortunately, the terrifying symptoms of an attack are so overwhelming that the victim never, ever, wants to experience them again. This builds up even more fear in the person with already higher-than-normal anxiety levels through their general anxiety. So the actual ‘fear’ of having another attack can ‘trigger’ one. The key is to get rid of that fear, thus breaking the vicious cycle, then cure the anxiety.

But Can the Symptoms Of Anxiety Attacks Really Be So Frightening?

Absolutely! Here are just a few of the most common symptoms; tightness across the chest, tight throat, hyperventilation, racing heart, irregular pounding heart beat, nausea, shaking, struggling for breath, tingling fingers and toes, dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling detached from reality and a real feeling of some impending doom. One of the most common feelings is of having a heart attack and about to die. These feelings are real to the victim.

What Are the Symptoms Of General Anxiety?

General anxiety is basically a propensity to continually worry unnecessarily, or irrationally, over situations or events that you wouldn’t normally worry too much about. In other words, your worries are disproportionate to those situations or events. Typical physical symptoms are, constantly being tense or on edge, muscle tightness, fatigue for no reason, headaches, sleeping problems, hot flashes, dizziness, lightheadedness.

So when faced with a stressful situation like a bereavement, being trapped in an elevator, an exam, a job interview, etc., a sufferer’s anxiety levels will explode, too much adrenalin will be produced, and the body will react with the symptoms of an anxiety attack.

How Do You Cure Anxiety?

To cure anxiety, your doctor will no doubt prescribe anti-depression or anti-anxiety pills, and perhaps beta-blockers. Sometimes, they will prescribe anti-depression pills to be taken daily and anti-anxiety pills to be taken only when you feel an attack coming on. Drugs do work to cure the symptoms, but they have several bad side effects, which can put people off.

And there are therapies to help cure anxiety like counselling, psychotherapy, meditation, self-hypnosis, acupuncture, and so on. These work for some people, not for others. But they are really just ’managing’ or ‘coping’ strategies.

You can see that these two treatment options either just work on the symptoms, or, help you manage your condition. They don’t really address the underlying causes without which it is difficult to get a cure. And they can’t do much about your ‘fear’ of having another anxiety attack. So they don’t help you break out of that vicious cycle of anxiety, making it more difficult to cure anxiety.

How much screaming will you tolerate before taking decisive action.

I have learnt to preach to the choir in my ears. I did so because there came a time a when I realized that no one and nothing was going to rid me of my tinnitus.

Just a small reminder of some of the therapies I have tried in order to find some peace and quite in my life: Acupuncture, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, infusions, Valium, Anti-depressants, orthodontic treatment, hearing aids, masking aids, Tinnitus Re-Training program, etc. I was asked to wear a specially designed corset to strengthen my back. I was asked to wear a brace by an orthodontic specialist. I have been advised to take Botox and now I am being advised to try a new Herbal Tinnitus Formula which may or may not help relieve Tinnitus. To add to all this, I spent at least 6 weeks in a Tinnitus clinic for rehabilitation measures. I have been off work for almost 1 year and finally lost my job due to my absence.

Written down it all looks very dramatic and all in all, a pretty long story to tell. These are the negative aspects I had to learn to accept and forget. These elements are history and must stay that way.

The most common thing that most Tinnitus victims share is the fact we will do practically anything to get rid of the screaming in our ears. We will believe anything we are told and follow all instructions. We believe because we trust what we are hearing and we all look forward to the day when our Tinnitus is gone.

Unfortunately we are often left in despair and frustration when we realize that the above therapies dont work and in 90% of all cases, have to admit that our Tinnitus is going to be a part of our every day lives. This is hard to accept for anyone.

If you can established and accept this fact then you will become aware that the only way out of Tinnitus oblivion youre your own will. The cure lies within yourself.

Without stepping on too many toes, I must admit that the medical field did absolutely nothing to ease my Tinnitus. There are of course many theories as to why we get tinnitus and how to treat it but at the end of the day there isnt much that common medicine can do for us.

There is away out of this hell and the only person that will make it happen is you. Ask yourself what you would do to get rid of your own Tinnitus. We have already established that we would do anything to rid ourselves of this torture.

Tinnitus can be ignored. Its a simple trick. Like most tricks it has to be learnt and practiced.

One of my biggest dreams was learning to play the Didgeridoo. I went out and brought one and tried to teach myself to play it. After much frustration and days of trying to get a sound out of it, I finally succeeded. I got a really long good sound out of it. It sounded really good. The only problem was that the sound diminished after 10 seconds because I had to breath IN The only sound that comes from a didgeridoo is when you breath OUT.

The trick is something known as circular breathing. In other words, breathing in and out at the same time. Believe it or not, its possible to breathe In and OUT at the same time and still live to tell the story. However, after weeks and weeks of practice, I learnt how to master circular breathing.

I hope you can see the point I am trying to make. Learning to ignore Tinnitus is like learning to play the didgeridoo. It needs practice and willpower in able to succeed.

Please let me repeat this phrase once more because it is very important you understand this. You can learn to ignore Tinnitus if you know how. Anyone can learn to ignore Tinnitus.

Your mind has been finely tuned to ignore things its doesnt want to accept. This capability is evident in everyone alive. Think carefully, how many things do you forget or ignore because you dont like them.

Everyday we are confronted with elements we would rather forget.

Tinnitus is another one of them. Learn to reduce its importancy and concentrate more on enjoying quality time.

Its absolutely vital you start realizing that Tinnitus is NOT a disease. You are not sick and you are not suffering from a mental disorder! You must get your life back on track again and start enjoying your life.

Tinnitus is a power that can be manipulated. Havent you been manipulated enough already? Isnt it time you got yourself back into the driving seat and started taking control again.

You cant let something so unimportant as Tinnitus control your life. This defies all logic!

I did the same and managed to change my lifestyle completely. I stopped smoking I lost 50 pounds in weight. I started to do work outs and go jogging I stopped worrying about Tinnitus In fact I stopped worrying about things I couldnt change I wrote an e book and created a website devoted to living with Tinnitus.

All these things I did myself. No help from anyone .I used Tinnitus as a base of energy and manipulated it to meet my own needs.

You know what? I still have the choir in my ears and it is still loud at time, but here again so is life. The only difference now is that I am the preacher and I am in control.

Happy preaching

Mark Goeder-Tarant lived under the spell of Tinnitus for almost 6 years before realizing that only HE held the key to success. He is now dedicated to supporting and helping other Tinnitus victims. The e-book “My Best Friend Tinnitus ” can be found at his own site http://www.tinnitus-online.com

How to cure anxiety attacks is the holy grail of all anxiety attack victims. Millions of sufferers around the world put up with the psychological and physical symptoms of anxiety and anxiety attacks on a daily basis, simply because their medications and / or other therapies just aren’t working for them. Here, you’ll discover why, and, what you need to do to cure your anxiety attacks (panic attacks) naturally.

In considering how to cure anxiety attacks, the first thing to do is to consult your doctor. They will make a proper diagnosis and assign treatment. This will most probably be drug-based medication. In some cases they may prescribe both medication and some other non-drug therapy such as psychotherapy or counselling, even acupuncture.

But the key element in figuring out how to cure anxiety attacks is your ‘fear’ of those attacks. The symptoms of an attack are so bad that you’re constantly frightened of having another one. This ‘fear’ is holding back your cure, because it builds on your already heightened anxiety levels. What then happens is that a fairly normal everyday stressful situation can push your anxiety levels ‘over the top’ thus causing another anxiety / panic attack.

Your fear of another then adds again to your even higher anxiety levels, so that another stressful event will trigger another attack, and so on, and so on. It is a vicious cycle of anxiety that you need to break out of in order to cure your anxiety / panic attacks.

Now your drug-based medication is used to control your mood and keep you calm, whilst your other therapies just try to teach you how to cope with anxiety and panic attacks. None of the two of them can actually get rid of your ‘fear’ of having an attack. Only you can do that. And remember it’s that fear that is holding your cure for anxiety attacks back. Unless you get rid of your fear, even with medication, you’re likely to relapse once you come off them.

So let’s look at how to cure anxiety attacks by eliminating your fear of one. There are techniques available that can help you do this; too many to describe in this short report. But I can describe the fundamentals of one such technique…

The critical issue on how to cure anxiety attacks by eliminating your ‘fear’ is to meet head-on, or even encourage, an attack. By facing up to your fear you’re effectively saying to yourself that you aren’t afraid anymore and so are diffusing your fear.

Do this for me now; try to bring on an anxiety / panic attack. Go on, try your hardest to trigger an attack right this minute. Remember, as an anxiety sufferer, you already have higher than normal levels of anxiety, so it should be quite easy for you to evoke an attack. But you can’t can you? You can’t because you’ve met your fear of an attack head on simply by trying to have one. And so you have helped ‘diffuse’ your fear. This is the key to your cure.

To discover the simple ‘ONE MOVE’ technique that will eliminate the critical fear factor and so break your vicious cycle of anxiety, go here now http://eliminatepanicattacks.blogspot.com and prepare to get your old self back again.

Today our life is nothing but a series of intricacies. Tension, sorrow and trauma are reigning supreme all over and every human being is fighting some issue or the other. Relaxation is so far from us that we cannot achieve it even during holidays meant for it. Anxiety, stress and strain has become an indispensable part of our lives.

A more heightened and intensified worry is anxiety disorder and panic attack. Let us try and find out more about panic attacks.

Short periods of intense anxiety, during which the patient is plagued by acute manifestations like increased hear beat, trembling, sweating, hot flushes or chills, nausea, giddiness, breathlessness, butterflies in the stomach, paresthesias, derealisation or depersonalization, may be termed as Panic Attack. The disorder may be diagnosed in accordance with the guidelines provided in the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual IV of the American Psychiatric Association.

Other forms of anxiety disorder include phobias, social anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, obsessive and compulsive disorder and, most commonly encountered, generalized anxiety disorder.

At times, the disorder may also be a consequence of Vitamin B deficiency, tapeworm infection or inner ear infection; it may also be a result of drug or alcohol abuse. However, most commonly, it is the heredity of an individual which has been accused to be the prime causative agent of panic attacks by researchers – a certain set of genes when given the company of certain environmental factors cause the onset of panic disorder.

Anxiety attack cure is possible – there can be a three-pronged process for the same:

> Lifestyle changes – increasing the dose of relaxation and laughter in one’s timetable
> Sessions with a psychotherapist – therapeutic assistance and soothing conversation with the psychoanalyst has been the reason of the cure of several anxiety disorder and panic attack patients
> Medication – a variety of pharmaceutical companies have brought medicines for panic and anxiety disorders

Without doubt, the best panic attack treatment is relaxation. The various spas and the massage centers specializing in acupuncture and acupressure and the yoga and the Thai Chi training institutes are some places where relaxation may be attained. These methods help the anxiety-ridden mind and body to relax so totally that there is a slow but steady ebbing of the mental tension. Most of these relaxation techniques work through causing sleep to envelop the patient – a good sleep does away with most of the anxiety woes.

For enhanced peace of mind and solace, it is advisable to incorporate some slight changes in one’s way of living life. Try and spend time with children and pets – they have the quality of taking you away from negative thoughts and replenish you with positive energy. The much applauded laughter therapy is also a great way out – join laughter clubs or watch more comedy shows on TV – either way, laugh your way out of panic attacks. Laughter, they tell me, is the best medicine after all! One other practice that may help ease anxiety to a great extent is adoption meditation as part of daily routine and spirituality as a bent of mind – both can prove to be a great aid to anxiety riddance.

However, all the methods discussed above can only be a part of professional psychotherapy in the case of seriously affected patients.

A psychotherapist has a range of therapies in his kitty to help the sufferer. One of the keenest-edged therapies available is the Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, often abbreviated as CBT. CBT involves two major sub-parts – one, making the patient cognizant about the flow of thoughts in his mind and, two, making him control his behavioural response to his panicky or anxious thoughts. This may well nigh be the best possible panic attack treatment, as it turns the mind of the patient – the very victim of the disorder – against anxiety and panic. The patient, after a few sessions, begins to feel the positivity in his system and the strengthening of his will power. He gradually begins to counsel himself against the onset of an attack.

Other alternative therapies include Exposure Therapy or Gradual Exposure Therapy. At times, the panic may be triggered by a specific agent called phobia or fear factor of the patient. The patient is asked to face bravely this particular fear factor – but only under monitoring of the psychotherapist. The degree of severity of the fear factor is arranged such that it is in the ascending order – as the patient gets accustomed to a lesser form, he is now exposed to a higher one. At the peak of it, the patient gets rid of his phobia totally.

Sometimes, medicines are involved with psychotherapist’s treatment and lifestyle changes to impart an effective anxiety attack cure – however, most clinicians avoid medication as the sole treatment program as these drugs often have side effects. They are all mostly tranquilizers and work by changing the neurotransmitter level in the brain. The major drug classes are:

* Benzodiazepines – alprazolam, clonzepam, diazepam
* Buspirone
* Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors – paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine
* Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors – Venlafaxine, Tramadol
* Tricyclic Antidepressants – Amitriptyline, Trimipramine
