If you’ve ever had a panic attack, the experience is not a very pleasant one. The good news is, there are quite a few natural remedies for panic attacks that are successfully used by many and may help you manage, if not completely eliminate, your panic attacks all together.

***Relaxation Breathing Techniques***

More than just some new age hype, learning to control the breath is an ancient method of calming the nerves, re oxygenating the circulatory system, and elevating the mind. The commonly used phrase, “just breathe” is used for a reason. Often times one of the most tell tale signs of anxiety or an oncoming attack can be first noticed in the breath, and it can also be stopped by learning simple breathing techniques in a meditation class, a yoga class, or a manual created specifically for managing panic attacks.

***Herbal Tinctures and Teas***

Although some have found that prescription medicines may assist with eliminating panic attacks, many others have found that the risks of side affects are not worth it for them. Therefore, they try herbal remedies such as valerian, chamomile, passion flower, California poppy, lemon balm, or kava kava. The effects of natural remedies vary widely.

Keep in mind, that when using natural remedies for panic attacks some people can relax with, say for instance, a small cup of chamomile tea, someone else may need a much more potent herb, or even a combination of several to get the right mix that neither over or under sedates them.

***Homeopathy***

Homeopathic remedies are additional natural remedies for panic attacks, and they use dilutions of some herb or flower essence. They are another resource to try. For example Bach Flower Remedies, a variety of homeopathic solutions created from flower essences includes one specific remedy called the Rescue Remedy.

The rescue remedy is create specifically for those in the midst of trauma and any type of anxiety type of experience.

Other remedies (unrelated to Bach Flower Remedies) include “Kali phos 6x” which is a nerve tonic. It is said to be helpful in the case of a rundown nervous system due to worry or excitement.

***Alternative Therapies***

There is a reason that ancient wisdom is ancient! Be open to Eastern healing techniques, as many of them are perfectly suited for calming the whole being. If the idea of acupuncture is too scary, consider a system of tapping on the various meridian points – as in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). This system has allowed thousands of people to not only move toward managing panic attacks, but to actually eliminating them for good. The best thing about this system is that it can be done in 5 or 10 minutes, and you can learn to do it for free!

***Change of Mind***

Believe it or not the power of our thoughts, beliefs, and ideas play a major role in our life experiences. In addition to the powerful mental benefits of meditation and EFT on clearing, healing and relaxing the mind, other systems like “The Work” by Byron Katie, and hypnosis techniques can also have a powerful impact on managing panic attacks and creating a peaceful world within.

While Byron Katie’s Work, allows you to release stressful thoughts without having to experience trauma, hypnosis allows you to gently relax into a state of being that helps you to receive a more desirable thought suggestion.

Because everyone is different, not only will some ideas for managing panic attacks work better, or more quickly for some, different folks will gravitate towards different solutions.

The great thing about it is, you deserve to be peaceful, calm, and vibrant. By focusing on this truth, the right direction will at some point be found.

We all feel anxious sometimes. It’s part of modern day life. But for some people their anxiety is out of proportion to the situation.

These can cause so much distress that sufferers cannot live a normal life

Of course there are many drugs and prescription medications that your doctor will be able to provide, but many people prefer natural methods of coping with anxiety attacks.

Here are some top tips for coping with panic and anxiety attacks:

* Breathe slowly and deeply through your nose, not your mouth. It is no longer thought safe to suggest re-breathing into a paper bag; this could cause oxygen starvation.

* Try this exercise: stand near to a wall, put your hand on it and hold your breath, then push as hard a possible, keeping your breath held for as long as possible. This tightens your muscles and can reduce anxiety.

* Most people feel less anxious in the outdoors. Listening to the birds, watching the sea, a river, or even just a pond or a tropical fish tank can be very soothing. A walk in a park or garden smelling the flowers can help relaxation and fight stress. You may even find that a screen-saver using a natural scene is helpful.

* Make a list of your problems, then crumple the paper into a ball and either stand on it, or burn it.

* Regular yoga is something anyone can learn to reduce stress and panic attacks. It will improve mental and physical ability, and boost self-confidence. But you need to go to a class for maximum benefit and to learn the correct techniques.

* Is a poor diet contributing to your anxiety attacks? Caffeine, sugar and diet sodas all contribute to raised blood sugar. Eat less saturated fats, as anxiety attacks are more common in the overweight.

* Find a hobby you enjoy. A creative hobby is better still. The concerns of day-to-day life can melt away when you throw your heart and soul into a hobby you enjoy. Spend time alone and at peace.

* Relax with a good film or a good book. Either can transport you away from the stresses of the world.

* Aromatherapy involves inhaling essential oils, or in some cases applying them direct to the skin. Essential oils can be added to a relaxing bath. Lavender, one of just two essential oils that can be applied to the skin undiluted, has a very relaxing effect. While aromatherapy can be practiced as a self-help therapy, you would be wise to consult a qualified practitioner in the first instance to produce a blend specifically for you.

* Acupuncture targets specific points in the body to promote healing, and has been proven beneficial for anxiety disorders. Unlike aromatherapy this isn’t a self-help technique as you will need to consult a licensed practitioner. Be sure this person is registered with a reputable professional body and will observe good hygiene practices.

* Talking things over with someone trustworthy may bring closure to unresolved worries and resentments. But be careful who you talk to – ideally a completely disinterested third-party, or at least someone completely divorced from the situation that’s causing you anxiety. Counselors or Cognitive Behavioral Therapists are highly recommended to help reduce the occurrence of panic attacks.

* Many herbal products have benefits for panic and anxiety symptoms. Consult a qualified herbalist – this is not an area where self-help is advised.

Before implementing any change in physical activity or diet, check it out with your medical doctor. If he or she is unsympathetic to anything other than medication, consider getting a second opinion preferably from an integrative medicine physician.

Although a panic attack may not feel normal, it is definitely not something to be ashamed of or defeated by. In fact, many people have experienced this stressful event at least once in their lives and some have even found success in curing their panic attacks quickly and naturally.

One way that folks have eliminated their panic (or anxiety) attacks is by utilizing an energy medicine system developed by Gary Craig called Emotional Freedom Techniques – EFT for short.

EFT is a natural system, that takes only a few minutes to do. It’s all natural. And it’s having amazing results with people who are actually curing their panic attacks.

***What is energy medicine?***

Energy medicine, also called energy therapies, are basically natural, non-invasive healing systems that bring about wellness by modifying or adjusting a person’s energy field. Most of these systems are based on Eastern healing systems and ultimately recognize that everything is comprised of energy and that the proper flow of that energy will support abundant health. EFT is one of these systems.

***So how is EFT done?***

EFT utilizes some of the same benefits of acupuncture, but don’t worry, there are absolutely no needles involved!

Actually, what happens is, several of the same meridian points (points where needles would be used in acupuncture) are simply tapped on by you or an EFT practitioner while stating certain phrases that relate to whatever issue you are attempting to release. In this case the issue would be curing your panic attacks as well as any of the emotional issues triggering the attacks.

Through the tapping of the points and the speaking of the statements, energy blockages are released and the proper and more beneficial flow of energy is then experienced, equipping you with a higher level of health and emotional wellness. As far as curing panic attacks naturally, it doesn’t get any better or more simple than this.

***How long does this process take?***

Each individual will be different as far as how many sessions of EFT they will need to do in the process of curing their panic attacks. But, each session can be done in only a few minutes each day.

Someone may experience complete relief on the first try, while others may take several “rounds”. Either way, the fact that many do EFT and never experience panic attacks again, makes the system definitely worth a try!!

The beautiful thing about EFT is that it can work when it seems that nothing else will. Learning the tapping points and simple steps can often assist you in quickly “bringing yourself down” in the midst of an attack, as well as create long term relief.

While some sufferers of social phobia manage to get by life without too much difficulty, some may struggle in controlling panic attacks and desperately need help. Apart from medication and therapy, there a various self help techniques that you can employ to reduce anxiety and stop a panic attack in its tracks. Meeting with the boss for a performance assessment, asking someone out on a date or introducing yourself to new people; we’ve all felt nervous social experience at some point in our lives. These experiences for social phobia sufferers are much more feared however.

Anxiety symptoms are likely to occur in such experiences and even trigger an episode. A person might show signs of anxiety including; jitteriness, perspiration, trembling and poor communication. Behaviors and habits that progress into social anxiety disorder are often developed from childhood experiences. Seemingly harmless to people who don’t suffer this disorder, for sufferers it can have huge negative effct on their lives.

Many feel limited with both happiness and opportunities. Lack of self-esteem and assertiveness, being overly selfconsciousness and constant worry of what others think; these behaviors stop a person from achieving success in life. It’s quite common for children to fall short at school and to maintain low expectations as they grow up. Growing up into adults they might let opportunities slip by.

Diagnosed cases of social anxiety disorder are either treated with medication or therapy, or a combination of both. Aside from these two options however there self help methods in reducing anxiety and coping with panic attacks. Frequent feelings of uneasiness and dread trigger anxiety symptoms. When a person with social anxiety steps into a room full of strangers they begin having worrying thoughts about being nervous and looking nervous. They are likely to feel cornered and a need to escape.

Social anxiety often spirals out of control from a single thought of worry which then trigger sensations and more worry. Learning to stop these thoughts can take time but essentially to get over social anxiety a person needs to recondition them. One way to do this is through self guided imagery and positive affirmations. Also by pushing your boundaries day by day you can gradually become more comfortable to situations that you fear.

Develop your confidence by reading lots of self help and motivational books. Confidence is a habit that can be learnt. Direct your attention to others needs instead of your own. Observe others and realize that you’re not being watched and learn to be comfortable in your own skin. Try and meet with friends more often and communicate with people more at work. Think of something that’s interested you and go out and do it.

Stop yourself from thoughts of worry and self-criticism. Breathing and meditation exercises help in calming the body and mind and reducing stress. When you feel anxious in any particular situation, begin to breathe deeply and count to ten. Reducing anxiety and controlling panic attacks through breathing can be surprisingly effective.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a meridian therapy which many people have claimed effectiveness in controlling panic attacks as well as other health problems. This simple technique works by unblocking energy flow in the body and implementing positive thoughts into the mind. This is done by tapping on acupuncture points on the body. Social anxiety is a challenging disorder to overcome but by gradually chipping at the wall, you can break down any barrier in your life.

Panic attacks are extremely disturbing for people. In most cases, it resembles a heart attack. For this reason, people can get very worried as it happens. They won’t know how to stop panic attacks as it happens.

Generally, people who have a history of anxiety disorder have a high chance of being afflicted with panic disorder as well. It can cause huge suffering for the people. However, there are treatments available which can help us in getting rid of this problem forever.

One of the main methods of treatment is to take pills. But a lot of people are hesitant in doing so. The anxiety pills can have some very bad side effects. You should resort to pills only in extreme cases and that too after consulting a qualified doctor.

Stop Panic Attacks with Alternative Methods:
That is the reason why many people want to know how to cure panic attacks naturally. Natural cures for panic attacks might appeal to a large number of people because natural cures are usually simpler and carry less or no side effects than prescription medication.

Here is a small list of alternative and natural methods of panic attack treatment:
Herbal remedies, relaxation therapy, breathing techniques, stress management techniques, aromatherapy, acupuncture, etc. All the above methods are well know and can be quite effective for stopping panic attacks, or at least reduce their impact.

Herbal remedies can help in treating this problem in a very gentle manner. There are some herbs which can cause feelings of relaxation and calmness in us. Some popular herbs are – lavender, St John’s Wort and lemon balm.

Aromatherapy might be another possible alternative natural cure for panic attacks. Adding a few drops of essential oils such as lavender, neroli etc in water and using the water for bathing, body massage or for inhalation etc may also provide relief from this disorder.

Exercises can help a great deal in stopping panic attacks. It is probably a well known fact that exercising can act as a great stress reliever. Exercises can improve our moods and can be instrumental in fighting this disorder.

Deep breathing is another important thing. When we are anxious, our breathing becomes shallow and rapid. We have to consciously start taking deeper and longer breaths. It can be extremely effective for stopping panic attacks.

It may not be possible to suddenly change your breathing when experiencing an anxiety attack. For this reason, you have to train yourself to breathe deeply when you are normal so that it becomes easier to correct your breathing under stressful situations.

You can try any one or all of the above mentioned natural cures for panic attacks.

Looking for an answer to what causes panic attacks? You’ve came to the right place. Here, you’ll discover the causes, treatments, and, the key element you must address in order to overcome your panic attacks and cure your general anxiety.

Opinion varies about what actually causes panic attacks, at least at what the root cause is. But there is a broad belief that they may be caused by one or more of the following; stress, family history of anxiety and attacks, traumatic life experiences, major life changes, underlying medical conditions, even some medications.

Treatment for panic attacks is usually by prescribed medications such as anti-depressants, tranquilizers and beta-blockers. These can work very well for a lot of anxiety and panic attack sufferers, but they do have several very bad side effects, including dependency.

But there are other non-drug therapies such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), exposure therapy, counselling, support groups, etc. Often, these are combined with drug treatment as well. And there are other natural treatments such as hypnosis, self-hypnosis, acupuncture, yoga, etc.

All in all, the treatments above are very good for helping you cope with, and manage, your condition. But what about actually getting rid of your panic attacks for good?

Let’s look at a very important issue in your fight to prevent anxiety / panic attacks and get rid of anxiety. A key element in all of this is your ‘fear’ of having another attack. And this is perfectly understandable because the symptoms of an attack are so horrifying that you don’t want to experience another. You may be fully aware of this fear, or it could just be a subconscious fear, nevertheless it’s there.

Now, as an anxiety attack sufferer, you’re highly likely to have higher than normal general anxiety and stress. Basically, you are in a place where you constantly worry and stress about things in a way that is totally out of kilter with their significance. All it then takes is a stressful event or situation, such as having a job interview, to add to your already high anxiety levels and push you over the top into an anxiety attack.

And this occurs because your body has ‘read’ your sudden elevated anxiety levels as a signal that you are in danger. What happens is that your body triggers its in-build ‘fight or flight’ response to help you in what it ‘perceives’ as a dangerous situation. Except, there isn’t one, and you know there isn’t one, which is why you get confused at the changes happening in your body, and so start to believe that something is seriously wrong with you, like a heart attack, for example.

Now, here’s the thing, your very fear of having another attack can provide the additional anxiety that can trigger an actual attack. This is a vicious cycle of – anxiety – fear – panic attack – anxiety – fear – panic attack, and so on. You need to break out of this vicious cycle in order to prevent panic attacks and then be better able to address and cure your general anxiety. You do this by meeting your fear head-on (see below).

Want to know how to stop panic attacks and, in doing so, help get rid of your anxiety? Here, you’ll discover what causes your panic attacks, how to eliminate them, and, how this helps get rid of your general anxiety. And you don’t need drugs either.

It is possible to have such high anxiety levels that a further increase in stress or anxiety can actually trigger a panic attack. And this is how many attacks occur. The sufferer is already under a great deal of stress or anxiety, for any number of reasons, and some stressful event, such as being in a very crowded supermarket, can push their levels so high that a panic attack is triggered.

The problem about having a panic attack, is that the symptoms are so horrifying that you just don’t ever want to repeat it. Unfortunately, that very fear of an attack happening again can be the very thing that can trigger it. And when you think about it, it makes sense. Since an increase in anxiety over a certain limit can cause an attack, and, your fear of having another attack just adds to that general anxiety.

But there are two things going on here, your underlying general anxiety and your panic attacks. Generally, your doctor will prescribe drugs to help control mood and to help calm you. But, although they can work fine for some people, they don’t for others. And there are some serious side effects that can put people off.

You can also use non-drug therapies such as psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, counselling, support groups, yoga, other relaxation techniques and acupuncture, etc. And often these are combined with drug-based medication to good effect.

But, whichever route you take, there is one critical issue that can hold back your eventual cure, and that is your fear of panic attacks, either subconscious or realized. As long as you have this, it can be difficult to deal with your underlying general anxiety, because your fear feeds your anxiety. It is a vicious anxiety cycle that you need to break out of.

And you do that by ridding yourself of your fear of panic attacks. Once you can do this, you stop having attacks, so that you can then concentrate on getting rid of your general anxiety, which you can by totally natural means, without expensive drugs with their horrible side effects.

At the heart of this natural approach is to confront your fear head-on and so help to diffuse it. And there are techniques to help you do this. I can’t go into the details here, but the following exercise will illustrate a key plank of the effectiveness of confronting your fear…

Make yourself have a panic attack right now! Go on, do everything you can to have one. See what I mean? You can’t make yourself have one, because you’re confronting your fear by trying to trigger one. And in confronting that fear, you’re diffusing it.

Many people are unaware that there are treatments available for most anxiety disorders, however, provided the success of each remedy can be different for each individual, it is difficult to pinpoint which particular brand is actually the best treatment for panic attacks. Since every person is different, one treatment may provide positive results for one individual right away, but may not even begin to show any benefits in another individual for weeks or maybe even months after beginning the treatment regimen.

We should examine a few of the more widely-used tactics in the treatment of panic attacks.

Exercises for Relaxation – East Asian methods of relaxation, including Taiji and QiGong, work to aid in relaxation of body and mind and have the ability to help diminish stress and anxiety in patients. These exercises can help your body to restore its chemical balance, reducing your stress and anxiety.

Herbal Treatments – Many people who suffer from anxiety disorders are searching for a more natural treatment for panic attacks, preferring to control their condition with treatments such as natural herbs and other products. What makes herbs an ideal treatment for panic attacks is that, not only do they work as well as medications your doctor may prescribe, they do not produce the harmful side effects that many pharmaceutical drugs are known for. A few of the more effective herbs are passion flower, lemon balm, valerian, and John’s wort that you can use in your treatment.

Accompanying Treatments – These are remedies like Shiatsu, aromatherapy, message, and acupuncture, which will not serve as the best treatment for panic attacks when used alone, but are effective when used in combination with other accepted anxiety treatments. You will observe improvements when you utilize these strategies one or two times weekly as part of your routine.

Deep Breathing Techniques – You canaid in restoring your body’s chemical balance, and also raise your oxygen level, by practicing deep breathing techniques. Your mind and body become relaxed as a result. The number of panic attacks they experience and the amount of time the attacks last are way reduced when panic attack sufferers use this technique daily.

Another treatment for panic attacks that is vastly used is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT which has been known to work extremely well, using psychology to bring about a cure.

The Linden Method offers one of the best known methods for reducing panic attacks that can be found on the Internet. As many as 110,000 panic attack sufferers from surrounding the world have been helped by this amazing program (it has been successful 96.7% of the time). It was created by Charles Linden who himself once suffered from panic attacks. Those statistics on their own should provide a sufficient basis for anyone to explore an approach that has proven so helpful to so many.

If you are a panic attack sufferer or know someone close who is, you’ll be aware of the various methods and options for how to control panic attacks. Informing yourself about all this can be a big task as it seems there are lots of techniques and ideas. This is the reason why you should really try and devise some sort of panic attack plan that suits your specific situation or circumstance.

You might want to consult professional help or invest in a decent reputable guide to make sure you’re going about it in a good way. Do be sure though to choose carefully who you want help from. Some physicians or helpers might give you medication for panic attacks without further thought, and this can have nasty side effects. Since you should you be at the controls of your life, make sure you learn plenty beforehand so that you can have a decent conversation about the options available to you.

After you have found someone to work with, it’s time to evaluate all of your options. If you suffer from really bad panic attacks a lot, and your functioning in life is badly affected, then you may need to discuss medication for panic attacks as a first option. Some of these can help take away your symptoms in the short term, so you’ll need to find a more long-term solution at the same time. And other options like herbs may take some time to be effective, which means you need a shorter term solution too. Checking out all medications and herbal solutions for your problem might seem hard work, but can be invaluable for learning how to control panic attacks.

Alongside herbal remedies or medicines, you may want to master some breathing techniques and add them to your arsenal. This can be done when you start to feel a panic attack coming on, or as a coping method to help you get through it. If you feel like this’ll be beneficial for you, put it in your plan and follow through with it until you find the exact breathing technique that works for you.

In addition to visiting with your doctor or holistic practitioner, you may want to work with an acupuncturist or other specialist as well. By using a combination of treatments for how to control panic attacks, your panic attack plan may be more successful. Acupuncture for example can help restore some energy balance in your body and lower stress and anxiety.

Basically, you want to go through all the options you have available to you. Then, write an outline of your panic attack plan. It should contain your short term and long term methods for how to control panic attacks that suit you best. It’s a good idea to keep your short term plan (what you do when a panic attack hits) with you at all times so you can pull it out in time for your panic attack. By creating a plan, you have set in motion what will eventually lead to overcoming panic attacks completely.

A woman in her 40s is rushed into an emergency room. She is shaking, her heart is pounding, and she can not catch her breath. She and her family are convinced she is having a heart attack. She could be – only this time the doctors tell her there is nothing wrong with her heart. What she is having is a panic attack.

A panic attack can happen without reason, causing sudden fear for 10 minutes or more. An attack is usually accompanied by physical symptoms that may include racing heart, rapid pulse, chest pain, shaking, sweating, nausea, faintness, headache, trembling, abdominal cramping, chills, hot flushes, feeling of claustrophobia, tightness in your throat and having trouble swallowing.

Attacks most often begin during the late teens, and strike twice as many women as men. The exact causes of attacks are unclear, but researchers suspect a combination of biological and environmental factors, including family history (genetics), stressful life events (major life changes, traumatic events), medical withdrawal and drug and alcohol abuse.

How to Overcome Panic Attacks – My Story

If you want to learn how to overcome panic attacks, you are at the right spot. I suffered from attacks for fifteen years, yet I have now completely cured them, and I want to share with you how it is done.

After discovering a technique that taught me how to overcome panic attacks, I want to spread the word! It makes me sad to think that there are others out there right now, trying all sorts of treatments and online programs like I did, but not getting the results they want.

I had my first attack in my late teens, and I will never forget what it felt like. I was sitting at home when all of the sudden I a felt a tremendous wave of fear coming over me, for no reason at all. My heart was pounding, my chest hurt, and it was getting harder to breathe. I felt like I was being crushed.

I tried several different methods to cure my panic. I read books on “how to overcome panic attacks.” I tried medications and therapy. I even tried music, aroma therapy, meditation, acupuncture, visualization and several other methods. But nothing gave me the result I wanted – a panic free life.

The method that finally taught me how to overcome panic attacks was a natural cure called the One Move Technique.

I came across this technique about two years ago when I was looking for methods on how to overcome panic attacks online. At first I was very skeptical of this technique. It just seemed too good to be true. But after researching it for some time, I found that tens of thousand of people had been assisted by this technique and that the author, Joe Barry, was actually a former panic and anxiety sufferer himself. Therefor, I decided to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did!

I can not tell you much about the One Move Technique here, because I do not have the legal permission to do so. But what I can say is that by applying this technique you will know exactly how to overcome panic attacks, and you will never fear another attack ever again!

I encourage all of you to take a look at the One Move Technique. It is not just another miracle cure that does not work. It is a technique that has helped tens of thousands of people, including myself, to eliminate panic and anxiety from life. Are you next?

Here’s how I went from being afraid to leave my house to looking forward to my daily jog outside… Click here now to find out how I cured my panic attacks for good >>

Panic attack medication is basically the same medications used for generalized anxiety. Medication is used to treat the symptoms of your attack and no the underlying trigger. The medications that are usually prescribed to patients are for there benefit and should help to provide motivation in moving toward a permanent non-medicated solution for the cause of the panic attacks. It is highly recommended that you seek the attention of a specialist such as a psychologist or psychiatrist in helping you diagnosis your triggers and eventually control or completely alleviate them.

Medications for controlling anxiety and panic attacks are considered to be very addictive and should be taken with extreme caution. There are seven categories of these medications and they are as follows:

1. Benzodiazepines: panic phobias & general anxiety
o Xanax
o Klonopin
o Valium
o Atovan
o Serax
o Librium

2. Beta Blockers: social phobia
o Inderal
o Tenormin

3. Tricyclic Antidepressants: panic & anxiety; depression & OCD
o Tofranil
o Norpramin
o Pertofran
o Aventyl
o Pamelor
o Elavil
o Sinequan
o Adapin
o Anafranil
o Effexor

4. (MAOI’s): panic phobia depression
o Nardil
o Parnate

5. (SSRI’s): panic phobia depression OCD
o Prozac
o Luvox
o Zoloft
o Paxil
o Serizone

6. Mild Tranquilizer: general anxiety OCD
o BuSpar

7. Anticonvulsant: panic
o Depakene

The main category of prescription drugs used for panic attacks is the benzodiazepines a select few of the antidepressants and mainly the SSRI’s. The SSRI’s are usually given as a combination therapy along with benzodiazepines.

As effective as these medications are they are not the cure they are only the control. There is an underlying reason for your panic attack. Researchers believe that there is a genetic link to panic attacks but there is not enough data to hold up that argument. Specialist believe that there is usually and underlying event that has over time created a growing anxiety level that is triggered by an outside element. The trigger can be food smell or other sensitivity issues.

Most panic sufferers have a second level of anxiety and that is the fear of another attack. This fear can be greater than the original underlying cause due to the unknown aspect of the trigger and the timing of the event can be very humiliating.

Do not depend on these medications alone. They should be used as a short-term relief for your symptoms since they are very addictive. Seek out help through other forms of therapy such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or psychotherapy.

Besides the medications there are some very successful natural remedies for panic attacks. Hypnotherapy acupuncture acupressure as well as selective vitamins and herbs have been extremely successful in relieving the symptoms of a panic attack and can also help control the event of another attack.

Hypnotherapies along with relaxation techniques have been extremely successful in reducing and eliminating future episodes.

One last word of caution concerning prescription medication is that the medications themselves may produce anxiety symptoms and trigger another panic attack. Proceed with caution and seek out the help of a specialist. Most general practitioners do not have adequate training in getting to the root cause of your attacks.

Panic attacks are an overwhelming fear and anxiety. Panic attacks can occur anywhere and at anytime. They are also called anxiety attacks and panic disorders. Women have panic attacks more than men, but both can have panic attacks anytime. How to cure panic attacks are treatable through your doctor or therapist.

Your heart beats faster, palms get all sweaty and your mind races but mild anxiety can get out of hand for no apparent reason. These kinds of panic attacks are frightening especially if you don’t know what is happening to you. You feel like you are having a heart attack as panic attack symptoms can mimic one.

If you have panic attacks often, you might have what is called a panic disorder. It is a medical condition that requires attention from a doctor. It is treatable and should not go unnoticed.

Many times a person might feel stressed emotionally and physically, but that does not mean you are having a panic attack. Panic attack symptoms are numerous and you sweat a lot, trouble breathing, choking sensation, hot or cold flashes, feeling unattached from your surroundings, rapid heartbeats, chest pain, hyperventilation, trembling, feeling of you might die and more characterize symptoms.

The worst fear is that you may have another attack and you would not want to leave your house. You have frequent attacks and you want to avoid whatever triggers the attack so you don’t leave your house. This is called agoraphobia because this is where you feel the safest place to be is home. If these attacks are left untreated it could become so severe that it could result into panic disorder and complications may occur.

If you think you are having an attack talk to your doctor and suggestions will be recommended. You can cure panic attacks by learning to cope with your anxiety triggers. Medication such as Paxil or Prozac might be offered for your anxiety. Counseling might be offered to talk about what might trigger your attacks.

Panic attacks are treatable and your doctor will be able to make suggestions on how to cure them. Figuring out what triggers your panic attacks will help lower your stress and your panic attacks. Treatment will also focus on reducing your stress, cope with your anxiety, and treat your symptoms of anxiety attacks.

These ideas to cure panic attacks might include finding out what triggers your attacks, talk therapy will help you to understand your panic attacks and how to cope with your attacks, face what might trigger your attacks, join a support group, practice stress management and relaxation procedures, yoga, aerobic exercises, or acupuncture might help your panic attacks.

Here’s how I went from being afraid to leave my house to looking forward to my daily jog outside… Click here now to find out how I cured my panic attacks for good >>

‘Suddenly I felt an overwhelming wave of fear for no particular reason at all. My heart was pounding my chest painful and I was having difficulty breathing. I thought my life was coming to an end.’ This is the type of feeling I go through every day. Panic attacks or panic disorder my doctor say is the cause but no effective medical treatment. Then my search led me to discover 5 proven and effective natural panic attack treatments that works and with no side effects at all.

You see for more than 14 years I suffered from chronic panic attacks that took me on weekly visits to my doctors and sometimes the visits are on emergency. This is when I decided to search for any proven and effective natural panic attack treatment that works; because I could no longer bear the cost of treatment and the embarrassment each time I began to experience panic attacks or panic disorder.

In the course of my search I found out the following 5 proven and effective natural panic attack treatments that work:

-Hypnosis or hypnotherapy
-Humor visualization
-Energy psychology or thought therapy
-Desensitization
-Cognitive behavioral therapy

Several people have found relief from panic attacks through hypnosis or hypnotherapy. Hypnosis has the ability to strengthen the effect of the mind on the body by changing the way we perceive sensations thereby relaxing you physically by removing the overwhelming symptoms of a panic attack.

Humor visualization has been shown to be an effective natural panic tack treatment that works to relief panic attack. This involves seeing yourself in a situation that makes you laugh uncontrollably so when panic attack symptoms manifest you should see images of yourself laughing and happy. Laughter replaces the distressing emotions of a panic attack. It changes the physiological responses of the attack. Laughter is able to reduce the serum cortisol or stress hormone in your body.

Energy psychology or thought field therapy is another proven and effective natural panic attack treatment that works. It has been shown to work quickly for several people with panic attacks. Energy psychology or thought field therapy presupposes that each thought we have produces a corresponding energy field which triggers chemical changes in our body. This chemical change produces behavior changes and bodily sensations such as racing heart sweaty palms dilating eyes dizziness and shortness of breath. Energy psychology or thought field therapy deals with the energy field related to your thought and by tapping specific acupuncture points in a specific order; you can discharge a negative energy with the specific thought.

Yet another proven and effective panic attack treatment that works is the desensitization approach. The desensitization approach requires you to imagine situations that normally cause a sense of panic and you hold that image for about 45 seconds. You repeat this exercise from time to time and on each occasion increasing the time spent on the exercise. Desensitization approach helps you face your fears and gradually remove what you fear.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is another proven and effective natural panic attack treatment that is even more powerful than medication and unlike medication you do not relapse after the treatment. In an average of 8 to 16 weeks you will be completely cured of panic attacks and panic disorder. Cognitive behavioral therapy includes cognitive restructuring where you are assisted to take a good look at your beliefs and value systems and exposure to your fears.

Now it is your responsibility to evaluate the above listed proven and effective natural panic attack treatments to see which one is best and effective for you and treat your panic attack completely.

Here’s how I went from being afraid to leave my house to looking forward to my daily jog outside… Click here now to find out how I cured my panic attacks for good >>

What exactly causes panic attacks is not clearly known but the predisposition for panic disorder is usually genetic. Stressful situations can trigger panic attacks e. g. getting divorced having a baby the death of someone close or losing your job. The ways to receive panic attack treatment are with medication therapy or both.

One therapy method used is cognitive behavioral therapy. This will help you confront your fears in a constructive way by altering the part of the brain that prompts panic or anxiety.

This is how cognitive behavioral therapy works: Let’s say you’re driving and suddenly you have a panic attack. You’re going to feel as though you’ve lost control and think that you are going to collide with another vehicle because you are so terrified. In actual fact nothing is terrible will happen. During cognitive behavioral therapy you will be taught this.

Exposure therapy is another form of panic attack treatment. Under medical supervision you will be made to re-live the symptoms of panic e. G. Hyperventilate shaking and holding your breath. Experiencing these physical sensations repeatedly can enable you to control your panic disorder and your fear of the symptoms will diminish.

Other highly rated therapies are acupuncture hypnosis biofeedback and hypnosis. All therapies for panic disorder are effective because they essentially enable the sufferer to control the disorder as opposed to the disorder controlling them.

Medication is frequently used to control symptoms of severe panic disorder but medication is more effective when used with therapy. Drugs used to treat panic disorder include benzodiazepines which provide fast relief of panic symptoms. The downside to benzodiazepines is that they are very addictive.

Sometimes doctors will prescribe anti-depressants for panic or anxiety disorders because anti-depressants keep the brain’s chemicals balanced. Anti-depressants are not effective for use during a panic attack.

When medication has brought panic disorder to a manageable level you will have to make sure that you eat healthily do regular exercise and get enough quality sleep. Simple changes like this can keep panic disorder under control.

There are many things you can do to help yourself. Firstly learn to understand panic and why we experience the fight-or-fight sensation during a panic attack. Understanding the disorder will instantly reduce your fear and stress and you’ll realize that you’re not crazy.

Try to stay away from caffeine and smoking – both can cause a panic attack or make it worse. Don’t take medications like diet tablets or certain medications for colds that contain substances that keep you awake.

By learning how to breathe properly you can control hyperventilation during a panic attack. Hyperventilation causes the chest to become tight and induces feelings of light headedness. Slow deep breathing will calm you down and reduce the severity of the panic attack.

Many people who suffer with panic disorder say that yoga and/or meditation have played a big role in helping to reduce and prevent panic attacks so these are another two options to consider.

Another great panic attack treatment is with a cognitive behavioral program called Panic Away. It will allow you to stop the cycle of anxiety naturally without drugs or medication. Definitely worth checking out for less than the cost of a therapy session.

Known as alternative medicine, these do not fall into the usual type of Western practices which are based on evidence. Instead many if these have been used in the past by ancient people in their cultures and have been passed down. These are believed to be able to treat a wide array of illnesses including panic attacks. Here are some of the most popularly used alternative approaches to overcoming panic attacks.

Aromatherapy

This treatment makes use of essential oils and aromatic mixes to help improve the mood, health and cognitive functions. Although there are no evidences to support the ability of aromatherapy to boost these, a lot of plants and herbs are known to carry therapeutic functions in them. Generally relaxation is brought about by the smell of the various oils used. Some popular scents that are known to induce relaxation and stress control include peppermint, chamomile, lavender, basil, frankincense and patchouli. These oils can be used during a massage or with some other materials.

Acupuncture

An ancient form of treatment, this makes use of filiform needles which are pushed into the skin through a special method. According to acupuncture there are certain pressure or life points throughout the body that controls how we feel. By balancing the qi or energy flow of the body negative emotions that have become built up can be removed. Studies show that acupuncture does work and is completely safe as long as it is performed by a trained specialist who uses sterile needles.

Hypnosis

Manipulation of the mental state is what is done with this specific treatment. Done under what is known as hypnotic induction a hypnotist delivers a series of instructions or suggestions to the patient. The process then allows the patient to reach a state of heightened suggestibility but with less awareness. The body reaches a state of relaxation while the mind stays focused on what it is being told to do. In this case the mind will be focused on being told to overcome panic attacks and its symptoms. Of course all of this can only be done successfully with the help of a professional.

Herbalism

Also known as folk medicine this is a treatment based on the practice of using plants and extracts form plants. By taking these bioactive components of plants it can help to ease the symptoms felt during a panic attack. You don’t actually need to get the raw materials or plants because today many of these plants are found in supplement form. You can either take it in the form of tea or capsules which are all readily available in stores.

Homeopathy

Although some people may think that this would be the same as herbalism since it makes use of plants as well, it is a bit different. In the case of homeopathy the same symptoms which are felt during a panic attack are introduced in small doses to help the body build immunity to it. These symptoms are induced through the use of special plants and other mixtures or minerals like phosphorous, gelsimuim and the like. These preparations for homeopathy have very little or no pharmacological drugs and are considered safe.

Meditation

A holistic type of treatment this allows the patient to get into a deep condition of awareness and relaxation. Meditation finds its roots in many different religious practices but is actually done widely outside of these spiritual contexts. By meditating a person can help build a tranquil and quiet disposition that will lessen anxiety and stress. This can be done by using meditation techniques that include sitting and clearing the mind, concentrating on positive thoughts or even breathing rhythmically.

Nourishment

We all know that eating right will keep us healthy. In this case eating right will also keep your mind healthy. Since what we take in is also what we feed to the cells in our body, the cells in our brains are affected. Basically with this type of treatment a healthy diet is suggested. Foods which can cause anxiety such as alcohol and caffeine are not recommended while foods that help out you in a good mood are suggested to help with overcoming panic attacks.

John Hoyner used to suffer form panic attacks and anxiety himself. After successfully getting over it, it has become his passion to share on things like overcoming panic attacks to help others.

This article describes an overview of some natural therapies panic attacks alternative to counter panic attacks and anxiety, also known as agoraphobia.

Some therapies are listed here, in this article we will review some oh them.

. Diet and Vitamins.
• Some herbs that can be useful.
• Some behavioral therapies
• Cognitives therapies: Dance, Exercise, relaxation, music, autohypnosis.

Diets and Vitamins:

It has been found that some dietary changes can enhance or reduce panic attacks and anxiety, see:

All sources of caffeine should be avoided, such as coffee, tea, chocolate, caffeinated sodas, and medications containing caffeine. People with high anxiety levels appear to be more susceptible to the actions of caffeine, so look for products such as tea and decaffeinated coffee.

Vitamins that may be useful

Inositol has been used to help people with anxiety who have panic attacks.

Avoid self-medication provided this and any type of item, whether natural or not.

An isolated double-blind study found that supplementation with a multivitamin and mineral supplement for four weeks led to significant reductions in anxiety and perceived stress compared to placebo.

It has been some evidence on fish oil was significantly more effective than placebo in improving anxiety levels in a group of consumers. Fish oil provides omega III, also useful in the treatment of anxiety.

Many years ago, magnesium was reported to be relaxing for people with mild anxiety. Some doctors recommend plunging into a hot tub containing 1-2 cups of magnesium sulfate crystals (Epsom salts) for 15 to 20 minutes, although support for this approach remains anecdotal but not scientific.

Niacinamide (a form of vitamin B3) has been shown in animals to work in the brain similar to drugs such as benzodiazepines, which is used to treat panic and anxiety. One study found that niacinamide helped people through the withdrawal of benzodiazepines.

Herbs that may be useful as natural therapies panic attacks alternative

Several plants, known as “nervine (nerve tonics), are used in traditional medicine herbal for people with anxiety, with few reports of toxicity. Nervine Most have not been rigorously investigated by scientific means to confirm its effectiveness. However, one study found that a combination of nervine and symptoms valerian passion flower reduced in people who suffer from anxiety.

In a preliminary study, supplementation with Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) significantly improved measures of anxiety in people with generalized anxiety disorder. Other plants or seeds including oats (oat straw), hops, passionflower, skullcap, American, wood betony, Motherwort, pennyroyal, and linden containing agents useful for reducing the state of nerves and anxiety.

Bacopa, a traditional herb used in homeopathic medicine, has demonstrated anti-anxiety effects in animals. A preliminary study reported that a syrup containing an extract of the dried herb Bacopa achieved reduction of anxiety in people with anxiety and neurosis.
St. John’s wort has been reported in a study to reduce anxiety.

An old folk remedy for anxiety, especially when it causes insomnia, is chamomile tea. There is evidence from test tube studies that chamomile contains compounds with no effect calmante.También animal studies suggest a benefit from chamomile for anxiety, but no human studies support this belief. Often, a cup of tea is taken three or more times a day.
Warning: Kava should only be taken under medical supervision. Kava is not for sale in certain parts of the world.

Until recently, the remedy for anxiety was kava eminent botanist, an herb in the South Pacific. We have found that kava has been helpful for women with menopause.

Other natural therapies panic attacks alternative:

Approaches in behavior that may be useful:

Reduce exposure to stress can help reduce anxiety. In some cases, meditation, counseling or group therapy can greatly facilitate this process.
Acupuncture has been little research as a treatment for anxiety. In one study, eight patients suffering from anxiety were treated with acupuncture three times a week for eight sessions. Six of the eight patients achieved good to moderate improvement.
Acupuncture has been proven very useful in the treatment of people with anxiety.

Music

A convenience sample of 97 adults receiving chemotherapy for the first time was allocated to each experimental group that offers music and recorded a message from your doctor, significant results were found in the Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory (compared with the initial assessment ) for the recorded music group, but not for the control group. These preliminary “results indicate that this simple and cost-effective intervention can reduce anxiety to receive music therapy.

Relaxation
Using a conceptual framework of holism Weber (1996) investigated the effects of relaxation exercises on anxiety levels in a general hospital psychiatric unit. The researcher used a convenience sample of 39 participants. Anxiety levels were measured before and after relaxation exercises using my portion of the state of the State Anxiety Inventory-Trait. The treatment included progressive muscle relaxation, breathing, meditation, guided imagery and soothing music. There was a significant reduction in the level of anxiety in the post.

Auto-hypnosis

Researchers tested the hypothesis that the techniques of self-hypnosis relaxation would have a positive effect on individuals with mental and physical condition following coronary bypass surgery. The researchers used a prospective, randomized (n = 32) and participants followed from 1 day before surgery until discharge. The treatment group was taught self-hypnosis techniques, relaxation before the operation, while the control group received usual care. People who were taught self-hypnosis were significantly more relaxed after surgery compared with the control group. drug requirements for pain were also significantly lower for treatment group.

Therapeutic Touch

Another research team studied the effect of therapeutic touch compared with a back massage in the level of anxiety in 105 institutionalized elderly. A double-blind, three-group experimental design was used. . The anxiety level of subjects who received therapeutic touch was significantly lower than for those receiving a back rub without therapeutic touch. The researchers suggested that therapeutic touch has some potential to improve the quality of life in this population.

What natural therapies can help you manage to eliminate the panic and anxiety? Joe Barry’s methodology is based on several of these therapies, eg cognitive therapy, music, relaxation, behavior therapy and other, so it has proved so effective, do not you think deserves to be the opportunity to be happy?(clic here)

Hello,
I have helped myself recently overcome panic attacks using a technique many will have heard of EFT – it is like acupuncture and you tap on certain body points.

I can now manage to do certain tasks especially performance related that I couldn’t before. I do still however have anxiety and other emotions that are stopping me from starting my career and being successful. I still feels like the panic is just under the surface.

Anyway, I have been reading this book called the Emotion Code by Dr Bradley Nelson. It teaches you how to tap into your subconscious using simple muscle testing procedures and find and release trapped emotions using magnets.

Some are skeptical about this and I can understand as I am still a bit. But one thing I realised is that if you really believe in this and feel grateful for healing (which it talks about) I think it really does work. I am going to start asking some specific questions hoping to resolve these issues in order to release the panic and anxiety. I was wondering though if anybody else might be interested in helping or if they have similar problems because you can work on these things together and resolve them. I would be happy to test the other person too.

I am based in the West Midlands in England. If there are no local people I would still be happy hearing any ideas or suggestions. I am a 25 year old male just finished uni and now I want to resolve these issues so I can find a nice girl, get my driving license and get the right job etc.

Thanks.

I had my very first panic attack last night. I have been a hypochondriac my whole life so the stress of that is probably what caused it and also family history because my mom and sister suffer them. At first I had no idea what was going on. My cheeks and jaw felt swollen, I got really tired and I had that feeling I can only describe as feeling like you’re not here. Like the world exists, but you’re not in it. Kind of disconnected. I thought this was because I didn’t get much sleep last night. I was scared though so I was thinking it might be aneurysm because I had a headache earlier, but not while this was happening. I decided to take a shower to see if it would help, but when I was in the shower I started having a hard time breathing. I got out of the shower and could not catch my breath and out of nowhere I got nauseous. I had not idea what was going on so I started hyperventilating and went to grab a paper bag. I was using that, but still I could not catch my breath. I felt like I was dying. Because my mom suffers from panic attacks she gave me a Xanax and within 45 minutes everything was better. This was one of the scariest things in my life. I really did feel like dying. This was my first panic attack ever, but I don’t want it again and I don’t like taking drugs, so does anyone know if Acupuncture has worked for their panic attacks?
