Combining herbal therapy with acupuncture produces many benefits. The main benefits include the ability to reduce stress, relieve allergy symptoms and headaches associated with allergies, certain women’s health issues, helping to balance the immune system, and also to relieve the pain of neck, back, bursitis, arthritis and tendonitis.
Traditional Chinese healthcare is often a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Qigong (breathing patterns/physical postures and motions of the body).

Have you ever wondered about those long thin needles that you hear people talk about using to restore their health or eliminate stress? How many times have you seen reports on the television or read articles in magazines or the newspapers that tell of the benefits of this practice?
Most people have seen or heard about acupuncture, but how many of them actually know anything about it. Most people have an image of some needles get stuck into you and it makes you feel better. The word acupuncture means needle piercing. Acupuncture is a Chinese medicinal method by which thin needles are placed in specific places to cause certain reactions. These specific places are called acupuncture points. The belief is that these special points will allow the rebalancing of the body’s energy. This will allow for whatever is making a person unwell to be alleviated. Acupuncture treatments are best known as a method for relieving pain.

Bill, a Cancer Survivor
I have a patient named Bill who is a cancer survivor. He recently beat Lymphoma. Bill is a new patient who is aware of “doing everything natural”. Bill comes to see me for a health maintenance package. He’s healthy today; we need to keep him that way.
Luckily, Bill has an open mind. He now knows he has to eat organic, and, maintain the 3 peg points to health: Diet, Exercise and NO Smoking. At 60, Bill looks at least 10 years younger, he does not smoke, walks a mile a day, eats lots of organic green leafy vegetables, and fruit. He stays calm and sleeps approximately 6-7 hours a day. Not all baby boomers I’ve met, and, treated are like Bill. He is lucky to have good genes, a loving family, and, keeps busy with his investments. He proclaims, “I’m saving money when I come here for my monthly health tune-ups. I know I was diagnosed and, treated for cancer and I need all the help I can get. I think it helps me stay calm and clean “He knows he has the best of both worlds Chinese medicine complementing his regular health plan. He realizes that whatever disease he may already have can get cleaned up, and, he get to live a longer healthier life.

If you’re thinking about a career in acupuncture you’ll want to learn how and where you can earn a certificate or degree in acupuncture. Perhaps you’re already familiar with the field of acupuncture but if not you’ll want to find out all you can both online and offline. It’s thought that acupuncture has been practiced in China for at least 2,000 years and some think it’s probably been practiced at least 3,000 years or so.
First of all you’ll want to choose an acupuncture school that offers consultation services for its graduates. The schools that do, allow graduates after graduation, to consult with instructors regarding care of their patients. You’ll also want to check to see if your state is on the national list of about 49 acupuncture schools with accredited programs and you’ll want to find an acupuncture school that offers smaller classes.

Acupuncture is a healing modality which has been used for 4000 years.
The Energy Channels of the body have been mapped for that time and scientifically, the points on the meridians have a much higher electrical resistance than the surrounding tissue. As yet, science has not been able to explain this but scientifically, empirically, the evidence exists!!
Acupuncture explains that health problems start with what are called energy blockages. These Energy Blockages exist at least 6 months before there is any disease!!

In the continuing search for alternates to antidepressants those who suffer from depression are looking to acupuncture as one option. Acupuncture has its origins in Chinese medicines: it is the process by which a qualified therapist inserts thin needles into the skin at particular points with the intention of treating illnesses. This ancient art has been used for over three thousand years in China and many hundreds of years in other nearby Asian countries. It was carried to Europe by early physicians and by missionaries in the sixteen hundreds. But it was not until the 1970s before it had begun to be used and later accepted here.
One of the reasons that it is hard for Westerners to accept that acupuncture works is that the there is as much philosophy behind it as medical proof. The Chinese believe that the way to heal the body is to help it find a balance. They believe that if the body and the mind are not in balance that this is when illness can succeed. They include illnesses of the body and emotional illness like depression.
