I have been sick 3 times within the last month, and I think stress could be the reason for it.
I used to get sick about once a year.. now im sick around 8 times a year. I do very intense working out, I am a kickboxer who pushes himself very hard when training. I work at a bar, and am currently in college in the city. I recently met a new girl I really like and I am barely making it through college.
I don’t know whats worse… being sick, having extremely bad chronic neck pain, or feeling stressed and depressed from it all. I have very high standards for myself, and when I dont meet them I have a tendency to beat myself up.
First, I mean no disrespect to anyone at all by posting this question. We all have different bodies and minds and different things work for all of us. That being said.
I am depressed. Have been for years. Also have ADHD, so you can imagine the competing need for serotonin and dopamine goes against each other sometimes. I still take a stimulant (Dexedrine).
In 2006 I started taking Paxil, 10 mg.It changed my life for the better but I felt emotionless and had no sex drive, which is absolutely something I cannot handle. After a year I quit, weaning myself off slowly. The withdrawal was absolutely ridiculous. For a month I puked, had brain zaps, soreness and insomnia every day. For two months after that I had severe suicidal depression, I almost lost it.
i know you are not suppose to take it while pregnant but what about while you are trying to get pregnant. i need to take it for anxiety. i would rather take an herbal supplement along with acupuncture then prescription medication.
I know these practices are kind of “new age”-y and from eastern oriental tradition, but people seem to all say it works great. Is this something a Christian should or shouldnn’t try? I want to get it for my fatigue and stress, supposedly it works great.
I suffer from major depressive disorder and have recently been in a depressive episode, which I’m fighting very hard to climb out of (medication, counseling, exercise, and even acupuncture). Well the other night, my inlaws just dropped in, uninvited, and I had been having a not-so-good day anyway. Well my father in law looked at me and out of genuine concern told me to smile. That set me off and I bitterly told him that I don’t feel like smiling and therefore I was choosing not to smile at that moment. My husband was being an ass that day, and I just was not in the mood to deal with teasing. In spite of his good intentions, my father in law is someone who believes that you can just “snap out of” depression, so I don’t really care to share with him that I’m not myself because I suffer from mental illness. I want to apologize, but I also want him to stop telling me to smile all the time because I don’t feel like it, and because I am tired of pretending everything is ok, when it really isn’t. Because of his opinions on the subject, I don’t care to share with him that I suffer from depression. Any suggestions?
My husband is the breadwinner, working during the day and I part time at night. We have two young kids and money is tight. He recently discovered that he want’s to go to school for acupuncture, a 4 year program. He would work during the day and go to school at night. I am supportive of his decision, but am concerned about how this will affect our life. I will have to find a different job, hardly see him, and once he begins practicing I worry if we can make it. While visiting schools we had a fight already, and I don’t want this to tear us apart. Anyone go through this? I need help on being supportive while remaining realistic.
